Plastic concrete
is the name for concrete products where the pulp from RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) and waste plastics is used as a substitute for sand and gravel. These are mainly bricks, interlocking paving, aerated concrete blocks, masonry blocks, curbs, gutters, concrete fences, noise walls and like.
Advantages of such products:
- the resulting weight is at least 30% lower than with conventional products, while maintaining all required parameters and standards
- this results in more efficient transport, handling and installation
- very low capillarity (water capillarity)
If RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) and waste plastics are crushed in parallel with cement and dust (dust from grinding stones in quarries), this raw material is suitable in a thickness of 20 to 30 cm as one of the base layers (hydraulically bound mixture) in road construction and highways or sidewalks.
